Hi freedivers,

I learned about suspension training during the Apnea Academy course back in 2012 when Mike Maric presented us the TRX...but only beginning of this year, I found some time to learn more about it. Actually basic course with that kind of material is not occuring very often in Belgium and it is not cheap too.

Finally last May, I contacted a personnal trainer, Pieter Segers, about it. After discussing with him about my practice of freediving and after looking at various videos, he designed a small program for me. However instead of the TRX, he proposed me a new workout suspension system, the Aerosling. What is the difference between the two? The latter one has a pulley! Thus it offers much more possibilities than the TRX, including excercices to improve body balance.

Below you will find snapshots from some excercices that we praticed. Of course, my moves are not perfect (that was my first time too :p) but I hope that it can give you a flavor of suspension training and how great it is to train with the Aerosling.

Basically the training session consists in ca 10min warm-up, 25min workout and 10min cool down. It is designed mainly as core training, movement coordination and balance which are the basis for swimming related sports.
