Hi freedivers!
last week was quite intense with AIDA level 3 cross-over with Emmanuel, last part AIDA level 4 theory with Benjamin, Christophe and Magalie and finally AIDA level 2 course at duiktank Transfo. I proposed Magalie to join me during this course because I though that could be a nice experience for her. AIDA level 4 is also know as "assistant-instructor" level by the way.
For the first time, the theory lesson was given at Transfo premises. It was surely a great class room!
About 1h30 theory later, it was time to go to the deep tank where we actually started with static apnea. Assistance from Magalie did not start the best way since she (accidentally) dropped her watch in the tank at the very beginning of the course. That was directly a good warm-up for me to recover it while Nicky and Dieter on the one side and David coached by Magalie on the other side started the static session.
Then we could enjoy the deep tank for about 2h30, practicing constant weight and free immersion. We even did a bit of dynamic but not that easy to swim the 20m diameter in a straight line...Whatever, it is was good training too :D.
It was also the first time for me to test my new SeaGods wetsuit in depth. Excellent 3mm wetsuit that kept me (almost) warm for more than 2h in 18°C water.
In summary, that was a very nice deep tank session with a very nice group! In addition, we could enjoy a very tasty homemade cake from Magalie at the bar. So she surely made it right :-). She also told me that she really enjoyed the teaching which makes me very happy too!
See you for the next AIDA level 2 sessions!
Felice
