Hi freedivers,
last saturday morning, I could enjoy a very nice freediving session with Karl Haegens and Patrick Naegels from the Diving club De Zeekat. For praticing AIDA2 exercices, we chose to drive to the Galder's lakes (Galderse meren) close to Breda in The Netherlands.
More than 25°C in the air and about 22°C in the water (thermocline was barely present), entering the water from the beach...It was almost south of France :D.
Except for some tourists and 3 scuba divers...the whole huge lake was only for the 3 of us :D. Karl and Patrick performed great even if Patrick has some equalization issues. I was also happy to see my very first fins from Sporasub (more than 10 y old :p) to be still useful for another freediver, isn't it Karl ;-).
Visibility was great, almost 10m! But then, for the deepest part of the lake (about -16m), a fluffy greenish/brownish stuff was present...See the pictures below...from 0m to -16.5m and back...
In summary, a great place to freedive and now, we know where to look for the deepest part of the lake (yellow buoy and small bush in one line ;-).
See you,
Felice
